Hello, my name is Raul Esparza and I create interactive learning experiences and I help people create their own learning experiences for in-classroom presentations and online learning. After 15 years of working in education and corporate environments, I have decided to teach people what I have learned while creating learning for thousands of students. To create great learning you need a plan, a delivery method, and the technical skills to design your vision. That is what I will teach via my courses. Let me help you design job aids, images, and interactive eLearning easily in an easy to understand format.
I am an instructional designer in an insurance company but I have taught science and technology courses for over 14 years. My Bachelor's degree is in Biology and my Master's Degree is in Instructional Design and Technology. I taught high school and community college courses for 13 years; these courses included A+ computer repair, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Photoshop, web design, graphic design, Adobe Acrobat, and many others. I have taught well over 6,000 students various computer software as well as career preparation and soft skills for the workplace.
For the last eight years I have been involved heavily with instructional design, adult learning theory, and commonly used software used to create training materials (Prezi, VideoScribe, etc...). I use Articulate Storyline, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Camtasia and Microsoft Office as well as various web technologies on an almost daily basis and I wish to pass on some insight I have gathered from my daily tasks via my courses.
Instructional design is an exciting field that encompasses technology and learning theory to assist in the creation of learning experiences, in my case that involves instructor-led and eLearning. If you are an instructional designer, teacher, trainer, or a student involved in the learning fields then it is my hope you will find my courses interesting and enlightening.
I am designing my courses with you, the student, in mind and will include not only videos, but also handouts, quizzes, and practice exercises so you can use the skills and techniques as you learn.
